Innovation Chamber Ensemble

What a find, where have the CBSO been hiding these people? As one of my Fathers presents, my children discovered a CD called ICE on Fire just by chance. Featuring members of the CBSO led by Richard Jenkinson this album is great and I recommend it to everyone. Can we please have information of up coming performances and details of other CD's available. I believe there is also another group led by Eduardo?

Can you describe the music David?
I really like the intimate nature of chamber music.

Hi Steve. I.C.E comprise the strings of the CBSO and the album I have comprise string works by Mozart, Elgar, Barber etc. led from the cello by Richard. The Barber adagio is particularly fine. If you interested I'll get you the catalogue number. David

Hi David,
Thanks for the offer David but,I buy very few CDs,that sounds a nice collection.
I note that the CBSO is on radio 3 again next week, its a recording from Aldeburgh I think its Ades who is conducting.

They are on twice Steve. The second is the opening concert of the Cheltenham festival under Martin Brabbins.

CBSO off-shoot Groups

Glad you like the ICE CD; me too!

There are a number of exciting ensembles which have grown from the ranks of the CBSO: ICE, El Ultimo Tango, the Berkley Salon Ensemble, Ellingtonia, the Little Big Time Band, Broad Street Breakdown, the Brindley Quartet, Prince of Wales Brass..the list goes on. A number of these groups are very active in our education and community programme, working in schools and giving concerts as part of our 'On the Road' programme of events, which is kindly sponsored by Mitchells & Butlers.

Have a look at http://www.cbso.co.uk/?page=performers/relatedEnsembles.html for more info
